Sarah Boughton
My mother's maiden name was Kinsella, and she grew up in Dublin until she was moved to Bedford as a little girl. She spoke Gaellic fluently, as well as English, and the education board who visited her new school made her stand on a chair and demonstrate her strange and unfamiliar bilingualism to the assembled class. Unfortunately, her fellow - pupils resented this attention, and my mum was also seen as a traitor, due to Ireland's neutrality in the second world War. So she quickly discarded her Irish language and accent, although she still has lovely Irish mannerisms. My mum and her 9 siblings did well academically and went to grammar school and then many travelled the world. I have always loved the very pretty sounding name of my Irish family and thought it would be very interesting to discover more.

I am the descendant of Martin Kinsella (convict) transported to Australia in 1924 on the Annie Amelia. Wife Ellen and daughter Catherine followed in 1933 on Caroline. Son Thomas was not mentioned and had been born in Wexford Ireland. Trying to find out what happened to Thomas. Jenny Hayes
